So I recently picked up a semi-auto 9mm IMI Uzi Carbine. I took it out last week and it's a blast to shoot even with the big barrel, but on the way home all I could think of was how much better it'd be with a short barrel and suppressor.
Before I drop $400 in stamps I wanted to ask a few questions to make sure I'm not wasting money.
1) How does the Uzi suppress? This is a closed-bolt gun so that may make a difference. Does it get dirty? Like an AK is a bit of a waste of time? (I know AK's aren't 'a waste' but also aren't ideal)
2) What type of attachment should I go for? As far as I see it I have 3 options: A barrel nut adapter, a 3-lug barrel, or a threaded barrel.
I've been surfing UziTalk but can only go back 2 pages so I'm not finding a ton of info on which method is preferred, but I'm leaning towards the 3-lug.
3) Lastly can choice. My first thought was towards a Silencerco Omega 9k, but now the Dead Air Wolf 9SD is out. Thinking deeper into it and having a USP Tac in .45 w/o a suppressor for it, something in .45 also makes some sense, so that would have me thinking about an Omega 45k, Rugged Obsidian, or Dead Air Ghost; the last 2 which can be taken down for cleaning. Anything else I should be looking at for this application or for some versatility? That other thread on the Blackhawk Mini Boss caught my attention as it's basically a discounted Omega 9k...
All of the cans have a 3-lug option and the Silencerco and Rugged cans have barrel-nut options available.
I appreciate any thoughts or advice.
